Day 23 - A cable ladder expert

Date: 17/2/2010

Was having trade school on Monday and RDO on Tuesday. On Tuesday, I went to settle the electrical worker registration and also went PEER to have the Support for Adult Form signed.

I was working with George for the whole day on installing Unistrut to the ceiling.

0630 - Start

Ben was assigned to the same site as well, together with both Marks.

We were using a dodgy sizzler lift, rented from somewhere. There wasn't a gate on the sizzler lift, but a steel bar beaming across the lift, where one can lift up or down for entrance and exit to the lift. One can also "stuck" the steel bar by putting it in an angle to stop it from sliding down - for the convenience of not having to support it while accessing the lift.

That's when something went wrong. The steel bar fell on me when I was alighting from the lift. When it hit my hard hat, out of natural reaction I tried to stop it - although it was already too late. And that was when I cut my finger - bleeding. At first I thought it was my head that was bleeding. Did not report it to Baulderstone.

1600 - Finished
